Rakeem Booker was born and raised in New Jersey. After graduating from high school, he attended Daemen University in upstate New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Healthcare Studies and Community Health. During his undergraduate studies, Rakeem knew he wanted to work with people and began his career as a counselor for individuals with developmental needs. In this role, he provided hands-on support and helped clients develop daily living skills. As his career progressed, Rakeem sought new ways to support others and took a position working with unsheltered individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse challenges. He assisted clients with mental health and recovery needs, helped them secure stable, permanent housing, and developed strong case management skills. In 2021, Rakeem earned his Master of Social Work degree from Kean University in New Jersey, prompting him to focus on clinical training in crisis settings and intensive outpatient programs. He is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II). Currently, he is enrolled in the Applied Clinical Psychology Program at The Chicago School in California, where he is pursuing a doctoral degree to develop his skills as a future clinical psychologist. Rakeem is a welcoming and motivated individual who enjoys meeting new people. He is determined to continue his education to ensure he is well-prepared to address the needs of those in need of support.
