David Rihn, MS, RD

Registered Dietitian

Approaches to Therapy

David is passionate about helping individuals build a joyful relationship with food to benefit their physical and mental health. He believes that food can nourish the body, mind, and soul; and that all foods can fit into a healthful eating pattern. David considers both the physiological and psychological aspects of food and nutrition to create a care plan tailored to your specific health goals, food preferences, social environment, and cultural beliefs. Additionally, he creates a safe and welcoming environment to celebrate the diversity of all body shapes and sizes and believes that weight is only one piece of a much larger picture of overall health. David utilizes skills in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Intuitive Eating (IE), Health at Every Size (HAES), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), to create simple and sustainable nutrition habits to improve mood, energy, and concentration as well as find freedom from yo-yo dieting and fear of food. Individualized nutrition care is at the forefront of David’s approach of helping to create healthful nutrition habits for life.
