Brief Bio

Derek holds a Master’s Degree in Performance/Sport Psychology with training in Applied Sport Science from California University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. 

Derek came to the mental health field as a second career, after working as an amateur, college, and professional American-Football coach in the United States and Mexico, as well as overseas in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Russia, the Philippines, Israel, and Australia. 

During his time as a coach, he worked with many different cultures, backgrounds, and ages. He also operated a successful personal training business in Moscow, Russia where he worked with females and males to improve mental and athletic performance. In his time as a college coach, he was able to help his 15+ players achieve academic or athletic scholarships to higher-level educational institutions.
