Dr. Melissa believes in providing clients with a safe and non judgmental space to assist them with the process of opening up and trusting the therapeutic process. She uses a collaborative approach while providing emotional support to clients when figuring out their goals, needs, and emotions. Dr. Melissa’s believes in the power of self-advocacy as it is a skill that can empower clients when they discover their mental and emotional needs. She believes that when a client understands themselves they feel more motivated about their inner-self, their abilities, and capabilities. Dr. Melissa is committed to helping clients discover their motivation, confidence, and self-autonomy to tackle different obstacles in their life while feeling comfortable in the person that they are.

Brief Bio

Dr. Melissa earned her Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Sports Psychology with the goal of continuing to work with clients and athletes with their motivation, sport performance, and emotional needs. She recently completed her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Los Angeles in May 2024. Dr. Melissa  published her dissertation in the field of Sports Psychology titled “Understanding the Impact of Mental Toughness While Under Pressure in Soccer Matches” and hopes to continue publishing more in the field. 
 
Dr. Melissa has experience as a soccer and goalkeeper coach for ages 5-18 years old. She also competed at the collegiate and semi-professional level in women’s soccer. Dr. Melissa has many years of experience working with children and adults in school and clinical settings, coupled with specifically working with individuals with Autism, intellectual, and physical disabilities. Additionally, she is familiar in working with the Schizophrenic population in skilled nursing facilities and boarding cares.
